First Aid
& CPR

DCW Level 1,
DCW Level 2 APD & DCW Level 2 DD

Embark on a fulfilling career path with Good Neighbor Training Center's Direct Care Worker (DCW) program. Our Level 1 course provides foundational skills in client care, communication, and safety protocols. Advance to Level 2 APD to specialize in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, learning advanced techniques for specialized care and advocacy. Alternatively, opt for Level 2 DD to focus on assisting clients with developmental disabilities, honing your skills in personalized care plans and behavioral management.

Our comprehensive curriculum, led by experienced instructors, ensures you're equipped with the knowledge and compassion needed to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those you serve.

Article 9

Explore the rights of the individuals we support and embrace the ethos of inclusivity. This course delves into Arizona's Revised Statutes Title 36, with a focus on Article 9, while also emphasizing positive teaching techniques. Participants will gain insights into the rights of the individuals we support and learn effective strategies for advocating these rights. Additionally, the course covers the necessity and purpose of behavior plans, offering clarity on when and why they are utilized. Participants will be equipped to reinforce positive behaviors and develop a deeper understanding of those we support.

Our experienced instructors will guide you through practical scenarios and legal requirements, ensuring you're prepared to navigate challenging situations with confidence and empathy. Empower yourself to provide compassionate and effective support to those in need.

Prevention and Support

Empower yourself with the knowledge and skills necessary to offer proactive care and support through the Good Neighbor Training Center's Prevention and Support course. This course is designed to deepen your understanding of the individuals we support, focusing on identifying and addressing difficult and challenging behaviors before they escalate. By recognizing the underlying reasons behind such behaviors, participants will learn preventive measures and strategies to effectively manage them.

Moreover, the course emphasizes understanding the communication cues of individuals and teaches safe and alternative methods of expression through replacement behaviors. Participants will also be trained in the safe application of Emergency Physical Intervention techniques when faced with immediate danger, ensuring the well-being of both the individual and the caregiver.
